Pet Peeves

One of my greatest pet-peeves is when a close friend or associate asks me to give them free information which I make my side money off of. For instance, when people ask me the best way to fix their credit. People get paid tons of money to do this. Right now I have people who pay me to hold their hands through the processes even though they are doing it themselves. Why should I spend hours with you fixing somehting for free when others give me a small thanks ($20-50) every once and a while.
Then you have my friends who I usally do their taxes for them. You can do your own taxes for free now. But usually it means that there are no hints and tips on the website to help you along unless you choose the next package which isnt free. So you email me, tell me you cant afford $50 for me to process both your state and federal taxes. They charge you $20 for the help plus since you cant afford an upfront fee they charge you an extra $29.95 to pay for it with your refund and thats just Federal. But you want me to tell you were all my programs are, how to register, how to login, how to do box 1-17, if you qualify for this and that, medical deductions and all this BS....basically you want me to hold your hand through the process for free, and waist my time when you should have just paid me and got it done in 20 minutes instead of 20 days. And then be mad cause you only got like $500 back. OOOOHHH specially the ones with no children and are upset cause I get a nice refund due to my son.
And the worst was when a friend asked me to show them how to make a website for free, which was going to generate money for them. And I not get a cut. yet I make websites and get $1,500 per site as a profession on the side. So you wanted all my secrets, then wound up paying someone else even more money for s shittie site.

Sorry for the rant, but man that shyt pisses me off!

TAX TIME!!!

Oh yeah! I did my taxes two days ago. Im happy that its done and over with, because I do so many other peoples taxes, that I sometimes never get to mines. Anyway, I did my first return client today. This year Im only charging $50 fee to do PA state and federal taxes, though my clients may have an addition fee added due to the efiling. Efiling can be free or at low cost in PA.
My taxes this year goes all to my dad and my CC's. I will not see one red penny, but Im happy. For once Im on time, have a nice savings and can afford to still look for the first property come this june!
Here is a little something in case you're like me and need to knwo exactly when you are going to get your return.
Also be on the lookout for Bush's rebate coming in June!

It's Official

I took on two new things this year so far...

As of Monday, I am officially a student of Rosemont College, int he Management degree track.

As of today, I have taken the first step in my Invisalign treatment. I went to Dr. Farrows office for my initial treatment. I was quoted around $5k for 12 months of invisalign. I am so stoked! I have to put down 1k deposit, and pay about $190 a month. My insurance picked up 2k of the price. The difference between the braces and invisalign for me was 6 months longer for braces, less $600. So I went on ahead for invisalign. Since I opted for the records to be taken today, I put $300 down on my deposit, and can put the rest on the deposit the two visits before I actually start the treatment.

The office was great, I love the employees there and the Dr was nice as usual. He now practices downtown as well as Mt Airy, so now I can go to my visits downtown during lunch. Later tonight I will upload the pics of what my teeth look like now. Before anyone says anything, I had just eaten and didnt htink to brush. Most people dont notice it, but I have stains on my teeth from the braces I had when I was a child.

I'm so happy!!!

You can see my progress on my invisalign experience blog Z's New Grill

Praise God and His plan!

I think that one thing that I have learned from these last four years is that you have to stay focused and know what you are striving for and that its what you want. In my first years of college, I was going with taboo and where the money was. I had no outlook, on what career I wanted or where I was going. After I had my son, I totally went blank. Thank God I had a good job, and was able to bounce back from the failing relationships I was in. I was really stagnant for two years and had no outlook. When I finally was laid off, I had the moment to get back on track with a plan. I was blessed to have the time to send my son to school and help him adjust. When I finally got back in the workforce, I sat myself down and drew plans. I keep 3x5 cards with short term and long term goals, and I have been watching them happen.

Accepted!!!

Wooohooooo!!! I got accepted. She called my parents house, and told my dad to call them. My admissions officer said I was accepted!!! So she has to register me for my first class this January! Im so blessed this year! Thank You God Thank You GOD!

Rosemont update.

Well last night I recieved some info about getting accepted. It's not official yet, but I did recieve my Official audit. I am not sure how often people get those and are turned down. I already brought the books for the first class, and I guess I can always return for a refund because they are brand new. Im praying for the best possible turnout. I am amped about finishing my first degree even if its an AA, because I am in dire need of some accomplishments to fuel my fire!

Besides that, Im at a loss because I found out the shop I was going to is closing. I need to go and buy an ample amount of their product before they close so I can be prepared for the break between beauty shops.

Latley I have been thinking about Invisalign, Lasek and mortgage hunting. Hopefully in 2010 I will have some money aside for investments since I will be out of school. If I do well I may go for a masters degree, slowly though.

1st in '08

So, its my first post in 2008. Well Im the way I usually am. Antsy for school to start again on the 14th. Im supposed to be double dosing with 4 classes at CCP and 1 class at Rosemont. Everything should work out. I was told that I was going to be accepted and rushed into the Jan, term, but I have yet to recieve the official acceptence letter. I wont hound my admissions recuirter until Thursday. I think that CCP took too long getting my transcripts out.

Besides that I am chill, waiting for some turnarounds in May!

Still doing the credit score thing.
